A funeral Mass for Alice M. (Mclaughlin) Dixon of Roslindale was celebrated Oct. 22 in Sacred Heart Church, Roslindale. Mrs. Dixon died Oct. 19. at the age of 89. Born and lived in Roxbury in the Parish of Saint Patrick area. She had lived in Boston all her life, moving to Roslindale 58 years ago. Mrs. Dixon was a graduate Boston Girl's High School, raised four children and retired from the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company. She loved reading cooking, baking and spending time with family. Beloved wife of the late John C. Dixon. Devoted mother of Donna McGonagle & her husband Joseph of Marina Bay, Richard Dixon of Roslindale, Peter Dixon & his wife Emily of Franklin & the late John Dixon & his surviving wife Beverly of Monument Beach. Cherished grandmother of Emma Gauvin, Taya Mullane, John Dixon, Patrick, Michael & Megan McGonagle, Katherine, Christopher & Alicia Dixon. Also survived by 4 great grandchildren. Loving sister of Ruth Gibbons of Dedham, John McLaughlin of West Roxbury & the late Eleanor Karshis, Mary Fermano, Jeanne Skelton, Joseph "Tell it to Joe" Mclaughlin & Robert McLaughlin. Funeral arrangements were from the P.E. Murray-George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, West Roxbury. Interment was at New Calvary Cemetery.
