John Joseph Doherty of Montgomery, AL, 51, died peacefully with his sisters by his side at Baptist Medical Center. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Margarets-Oakwood Cemetery. John served proudly in the USAF and was a veteran of Desert Storm. He went on to work at the Harvard University School of Economics in Cambridge, Mass., and was a resident of Salem, Mass. For over 10 years. John was preceded in death by his loving and wonderful parents Edward and Dolorita and his brother Ted. He is survived by his siblings, Thomas Doherty and his wife Sandra of Salem, MA, Sandy and Kenny Campbell of Miami, FL, Mary and Wesley Romine of Montgomery, AL, and Sally Lengyel and her husband Joseph of Washington, D.C.; also his three nieces, Kristin and Nicole Campbell and Katie Lengyel as well as his beloved dog and best friend Bingo. John will be remembered always for his innate kindness, his intelligence and his incredible sense of humor.
