Mr. David R. Nagle, Sr., age 86, died Thursday, April 18 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Betty (Hull) Nagle. Born and raised in Saugus, he was the son of the late Frank and Katherine (Sheehan) Nagle. David served as a Merchant Marine during World War II, and retired from the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority as the Real-Estate Director. He served as Former Governor Francis Sergeants Appointmen Secretary, he also was a real estate developer in the Saugus area. Dave was a member of the Lions Club, the Saugus Knights of Columbus, and the Saugus American Legion Cpl. Scott J. Procopio Post 210 Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Jane Nagle & her companion Tom of Saugus, David Ray Nagle, Jr. & his wife Karen of Saugus, Diane Sullivan & her husband Jeff of Saugus, Susan Barcum & her husband Mike of OK; seven grandchildren, Eric, Jennifer, Kelly, Casey, Sara, Ashley & Jeremy; 5 great grandchildren; three brothers, J. Leo Nagle of FL, Charles Nagle of NH, William Nagle of Swampscott; three sisters, Katherine Leonard of Salem, Theresa Garrity of Swampscott, Dorothea Tormey of NH. He was the brother of the late Francis, John, James, Thomas, Lawrence Nagle & Rita Walsh. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The LAM Foundation, thelamfoundation.org.
