Charlotte E. (Meacham) Parsons, 91, of Scituate, died on June 18th, 2014. Charlotte was the devoted wife of the late Samuel C. Parsons and the beloved mother of Elizabeth Beth Parsons of Boston and the late Anne Mathias. Charlotte was an Alabama native and graduated from Birmingham Southern College and the Harvard-Radcliffe Program in Business Administration. She worked as assistant to the personnel director at Gilchrist Department Store in downtown Boston. On August 16, 1952, Charlotte married Samuel C. Parsons. In 1955, the couple moved to Scituate where they raised their two daughters. During her 59 years in Scituate, Charlotte was an active member of the First Trinitarian Congregational Church as a Sunday school teacher and served on many committees there. She was a Girl Scout leader, a member of the League of Women Voters and volunteered at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.She enjoyed reading, photography, needlework and writing. Charlotte was deeply committed to social justice and helping those in need. She was generous in her support of many worthy causes. Charlotte was truly fun to be with, had a wonderful sense of humor and something nice to say to everyone. All services will be private.
