5/25/1968 | 12/9/2013 - On December 9, 2013 Julie Ratsun of Sharon, lost a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was only 45. Julie leaves behind three children | Rachel, 16, Rebecca, 14, and Joshua Netson, 5. She is survived by her mother Stella Ratsun of Newton, sister and brother in law Olga and Vitaly Revsin of Andover, niece and nephew Anna Fisher and Boris Revsin of Boston. Julie was born in St Petersburg and since early childhood showed a curious, sharp, and analytical mind. She studied math and technology at the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute and then continued her studies at Stony Brook University in NY, where she received her Masters degree in mathematics. In 2005 Julie became a fully licensed actuary, and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and Society of Actuaries. Julie has been working as an actuary for major insurance companies, such as Mercer and John Hancock. She was an incredible friend, fabulous cook, and avid gardener. Julie spent many hours growing fruits and vegetables at the Sharon Community Gardens for her organic household. Julie will be always remembered for her bright smile, quick mind and sharp sense of humor. Her untimely passing leaves a big gap in the hearts of her loved ones. Funeral service will be held at the Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 1668 Beacon Street, Brookline on Wednesday December 11 at 11:30 AM followed by interment at Puritan Cemetery in West Roxbury. Relatives and friends are invited to a reception at Julies house following the funeral service.
