Frances M. Loughran Obituary
Frances M. (Smith) Loughran, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013, her loving family at her side. Born in Toronto, Canada, 93 years ago, Frances resided in Milton for many years before moving to Stoughton eight years ago. She enjoyed her summers at Ocean Park, Maine, where she summered with family. She served as a Staff Sergeant in the British Army during World War II. Frances was an avid reader and the family historian. Beloved wife of the late Joseph A., she was the devoted mother of Joseph A. Loughran and Gail Miller of Maine, Karen F. Braun of Maine, Nancy J. McNeill and her husband John of Milton, Christine M. Sowa of Easton, Mary F. Barry of Stoughton, Elizabeth M. McKeen and her husband Steven of Easton, and the late William J. Loughran; sister of Douglas J. Smith of Scituate and the late Jean Walsh; mother-in-law of Pamela Loughran and Gary Sowa. She was the loving grandmother of 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary of the Hills Church, Milton, Saturday, May 4, at 10. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Friday 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
