Rita R. (Ribeiro) Dias, 50, died peacefully at home Friday, Aug. 31, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Tony G. Dias. Born in Madeira, Portugal, she was educated in Madeira before moving to Stoughton in 1975, where she attended Stoughton High School. Mrs. Dias was an assembler for S&S Research in Norwood for several years. She enjoyed gardening, reading, walking, traveling and especially spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Dias is survived by her children, Jeff R. Dias and his companion Melissa Gosselin of South Easton, Brian R. Dias and his companion Lauren Williams and Amy R. Dias and her companion Daniel Acevedo, all of Stoughton; as well as her grandchildren, Hailey and Dylan Dias. She was the sister of Connie Gonsalves, Manuel Ribeiro, Fatima Viveiros, Jose Antonio Ribeiro, Olivia Ramos, Margarida Spinola and Sally Pacheco, all of Stoughton, Afonso Ribeiro of Florida, Emily Bettencourt and Paula Sylvia, both of Brockton, Grace Gibbons and Paul Ribeiro, both of New Hampshire, and the late Joao Ribeiro. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A funeral Mass was held Sept. 5, at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton, at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours were Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be private.
