Robert J. Ball, Jr., age 55, formerly of Weymouth and Quincy, died accidentally Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Bob was born in Quincy and was raised and educated in Quincy schools. He had lived briefly in Holbrook but had lived in Weymouth for over twenty years. He was formerly employed as a kitchen designer for the Harrison Supply Company in Boston for twenty years. He had been retired eight years due to health issues. Bob had a big heart and would go out of his way for anyone, at any time. Over the past few years, Bob fought through his illness like a champion. He would get knocked down and stand back up again as if nothing happened. His brother-in-law defines him as undefeatable. He had many passions, one of them of them being a love for cars, especially muscle cars. Family and friends were very important to Bob as he always put them before himself. Bob will always be remembered for his amazing personality, his strength and his will to keep on going. He was the beloved husband for twenty-nine years of Cynthia A. (Lamberti) Ball; devoted father of Nicole M. Ball of Walpole, Robert S. Bo Ball and Christopher W. Ball both of Holbrook; loving grandfather of Chrystal; cherished son of the late Rita (Smith) Frawley, her late husband William and Robert J. Ball of Tenn.; dear brother of Rita OKeefe of Randolph, Karen Thornell of Derry, N.H., Darryl Fragose of Franklin, N.H., and Christine Frawley of Derry, N.H. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral was held from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Monday, July 7, at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, 386 Hancock St., North Quincy, at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours were at the funeral home Sunday 2-6 p.m. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
