Assunta M. Ferrera

Assunta M. "Elsa" Ferrera, 92, a lifelong Maynard resident, died after a brief illness onThurs, Nov. 21, 2013 at the LifeCare Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton. Born in Maynard, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo "James" and Louisa (Fanara) Ferrera. Miss Ferrera attended the Maynard schools, and was employed by Honeywell where she was known for her precise work on electronic boards and quality control. A self-taught typist, she was an excellent seamstress who made many of her own outfits and suits. She loved to walk and exercise, and liked to read. Miss Ferrera especially enjoyed time with family and friends, including trips to Littleton for ice cream and the the daily 3:00pm coffee meetings at the doughnut shop. She is survived by a brother, Guy Ferrera of Lexington; a sister Tina Moscariello of Acton; and many nieces, nephews and their families. She was the sister of the late Rose Borzumato, Mary Baio, and Josephine and Jennie Ferrera. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton, on Mon. Nov. 25th from 10:00-11:30am, with the funeral service following at 11:30am at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Bridget's Cemetery, Great Rd. (Rte 117) Maynard. Flowers are gratefully accepted, or those who wish may make memorial contributions in Miss Ferrera's name to the .
