Katherine Colombo

Katherine Kay Colombo, 97, of Maynard, died Friday, March 29th, 2013 at Life Care Center of Acton. She was the beloved wife of the late AntonioTarny Colombo, and mother of the late Richard Colombo. Born in Maynard and raised in Westford, Ma., Kay was one offive children of the late Nikolai and Antonina Borodowka. She was a longtime parishioner of St.Bridgets Parish, and past president of the Ladies of Indulgence Society aswell as the Maynard Emblem Club. She was also a long-time member of the MaynardSenior Citizens Club, the Council of Aging and she enjoyed spending time with her friends at theDrop-In Center. She was a contributing writer of the Maynard Beacon for thecolumn Plucked from the Grapevine for many years. She was also a waitress forvarious Maynard restaurants, including Uncle Pete Carbones and Tobins VendingService. Kays legacy would be her love for her family, whom she loved toentertain and cook for. She is survived by her children, Elaine Donaghue and husbandPatrick of Stow, and Kathy Corrigan and husband Dennis of Maynard; 6 grandchildren: JeanMarieCamp and her husband Jon of Manahawkin, New Jesey; Melissa Donaghue ofPortland, Oregon; Rebecca Donaghue of State College, PA.; Ryan Corrigan of LosAngeles, CA; Kaitlyn and Shawn Corrigan of Maynard; 6great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Florence Borodowka of Lowell .She was the sister of the late John Borodowka, Helena Borodowka, Frances Wrightand Regina Bell. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, April 4that the Fowler Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord St., Maynard, from 5-7 PM. The FuneralMass will be celebrated Friday, April 5th at 9:00 AM at St. BridgetsChurch, 1 Percival St., Maynard, followed by interment in St. BridgetsCemetery.
