James C. Shaughnessey III, 59, a resident of Stow for the past 25 years and formerly of Bedford, died unexpectedly Tues. July 23, 2013 at the UMass Memorial Healthcare Marlborough Hospital. He and his wife, Barbara (Barrett) Shaughnessey were to celebrate their 36th wedding anniversary on August 6th. Born in Boston and raised in Bedford, he was the son of the late James C. Jr. and Mary L. (Vienneau) Shaughnessey. He graduated from the Bedford schools and attended college, and was employed for over 25 years at John Palmer Moving and Storage of Acton, where he was currently a general manager. In summer months he loved boating and fishing on Sebago Lake and Frye Island, and winters enjoyed snowmobiling. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Timothy Shaughnessey, wife Danielle and their children Dillon and Louise, all of Palmer; a son Brian Shaughnessey of Stow; a sister Ann Hurley of Norfolk; brothers David of Westford, Paul of Tyngsboro and Michael of Acton; and 7 nieces. Visiting hours are Tues. July 30th from 4-7pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Wed. July 31st at 10am in St. Isidore Church, 429 Great Road (Rte 117) Stow. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the
