John M. McMorrow Obituary
John Michael McMorrow, long-time resident of Sudbury died from Parkinsons on Monday, March 19, 2018 at St. Patricks Manor in Framingham, MA at the age of 89. He was born on January 26, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY to Beatrice (Jennings) and Charles McMorrow who hailed from Co. Mayo and Co. Leitrim, Ireland. After graduating from St. Johns University in Queens, NY (B.A., Liberal Arts (Political Science and Economics) 1950), he served in the U.S. Army and subsequently earned a second degree from St. Johns University (B.B.A., Industrial Relations 1954). John married his wife in 1954 in Brooklyn, NY and they were blessed with five children: Kevin Michael of New Hampshire, Brian T. of Washington, Maureen P. of Massachusetts, John J. of California, and Elizabeth A. (Betsy) of Massachusetts. John had four wonderful grandchildren: Ryan Michael, Kyle, Camryn (Cammy) and Taylor and an amazing great-grandson: Declan Michael. John and Alice lived in: New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, California and Zurich, Switzerland. They bought their house in Sudbury in 1981 and moved from Sudbury 31 years later. He had been a member of the Republican Town Committee, taught CCD at Our Lady of Fatima and been very active at St. Caismir Catholic Church in Maynard, MA where he served as President of the Holy Name Society. John was an international business executive who worked for the United Fruit Company, Fafnir Bearing Co., Occidental Petroleum Corp. and BTR Inc. While he enjoyed working in Europe, the U.S. and South America, his heart was with his United Fruit colleagues in Central America. In his career in human resources and labor negotiations, John was known for his desire to develop and promote employees to benefit their careers and ultimately their families lives.
