Theodore Ray Stone of Hudson, formerly a resident of Sudbury for over 30 years, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, Thursday June 6, 20013 at Marlboro Health Care Center following a period of declining health. He was 80 and the husband for 43 years of Nancy Hurd Stone of Hudson. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Loretta Nelson Stone and was raised and educated in Waltham. After graduating from Waltham High School, Ted proudly served his country with the United States Navy for 4 years during the Korean War. He was a member of the Sudbury United Methodist Church for 40 years and an active member of the Sudbury Companies Minute and Militia, being elected Colonel in 1979. He was a design engineer and had been employed by Raytheon Corporation and late Digital Equipment Corporation from which he retired. In addition to his wife, Nancy, he leaves his sons: David Stone of Woodland Hill, CA and Jeffrey Stone of Northboro. He was the grandfather of Kayleigh, Jagger and Lindsey Stone, the brother of Virginia Dahlin of Sterling and the late William and Robert Stone. Additional survivors are his sisters in law, Barbara Stone of Marlboro and Jean Stone of Burlington. A celebration of Ted's life will be held Sunday, June 23, at 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon at the Sudbury United Methodist Church, 251 Old Sudbury Road, Rt. 27, Sudbury Center. Rather than flowers, the family would like to support the underprivileged communities in Africa and Dominica thru memorial donations directed to SUMC Endowment Fund 251 Old Sudbury Rd., Sudbury, MA 01776.
