Lillian A. Carruthers ( Sullivan), died Saturday, February 15, 2014 in Framingham, Massachusetts. Formerly of Waltham, she was in her 100th year and was the beloved wife of the late Edward Carruthers. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Sullivan. As a child she spent her early years in Ireland prior to moving to Maynard where she was a graduate of Maynard High School. In 1937 she married Edward A. Carruthers and they moved to Waltham where they raised their family. Mrs. Carruthers was a sports fan and enjoyed following the Boston Bruins and the Boston Red Sox. For many years she and her family also enjoyed their summer home in Jackson, Maine. For the past several years she lived at Carmel Terrace and St. Patrick Manor in Framingham. Mrs. Carruthers was one of seven siblings, all of whom predeceased her, and is survived by her three daughters and their husbands; Mary Anne and Ron Ham of Sudbury, Margaret and David Pergola of Belmont and Ellen and Charles Darsch of Marlboro. She also leaves 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. A funeral mass will be celebrated Thurs., Feb. 20, at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Manor Chapel, 863 Central Street, Framingham, MA, followed by interment in Mt. Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visitation will be held Wed., Feb. 19, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Duckett-J. S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Rd.., Rt. 20, Sudbury.
