Mark Evan (Jones) McCue, 59, of Swampscott, Massachusetts, beloved husband of the late Anne (Raby) McCue, died unexpectedly Monday, June 4, 2012, at home. He was born February 3, 1953, in Teaneck, New Jersey, son of the late Walter and Mary Ellen (Murphy) Jones. Mark was a 1971 graduate of Simsbury High School, Simsbury, Connecticut, and had lived in San Francisco, California, and East Hartford, Connecticut, prior to moving to Swampscott twelve years ago. Mark was a graduate of the University of Hartford, Class of 1992, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History. A fan of rock-music icons Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix, Mark began playing electric guitar while in high school. He performed with several bands, as well as solo, and acquired the skills, while employed by manufacturers on both coasts, to set up, repair, and build guitars for himself and others. Mark will be remembered for his patient craftsmanship, his fondness for music of all kinds, his enjoyment of baseball, his intelligence, humor, and generosity, and his love for his wife, Anne. He is survived by his sister, Colleen Jones; his brothers, Andrew and Patrick Jones; his sisters-in-law, Kay and Mia Jones; nine nieces and nephews, including his goddaughter, Stephanie; and two great-nephews. A memorial ceremony is planned for July 18, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Marblehead Zen Center, 13 Glover Square, Marblehead, Massachusetts. A celebration of Mark's life will take place Saturday, August 11, 2012, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Parish Franciscan Center, behind the church at 31 Oak Street, Winsted, CT. A private burial took place at Swampscott Cemetery.
