Phyllis M. Crawford Obituary
Phyllis M. (Humphrey) Crawford, 88, a lifelong resident of Woburn, passed away after a long illn- ess on Monday morning, February 6, 2017. She was the lov- ing wife of Lester E. Crawford. Born and raised in the Horn Pond area of Woburn, she was the daughter of the late Arth- ur Humphrey, and the late Ann (Babcock) Humphrey. After graduating from Woburn High School and wo-rking for the telephone company, she met and married her husband, Lester, who she was married to for almost 62 years. Loved by her four children, Phyllis was adored by her seven grandchildren who often referred to her as a Cool Nana. She was a long time employee at the Choate Memorial Hospital (later Choate Symmes) as a Food Service Supervisor. Phyllis enjoyed visiting York Beach, square dancing with The Singles Squares, puzzles and the Red Sox | a great fan of Big Papi. Her feisty personality and irreverent humor were her trademark and highly valued by friends and family. In addition to her husband Lester, Phyllis is survived by one daughter, Leslie Ann Crawford of Woburn; and three sons, Wayne Crawford and his wife Cathy of Southern Pines, NC, Drew Crawford and his wife Jill of Woburn, and Kris Crawford and his wife Karen of Woburn. She is also survived by her seven loving grandchildren, Allison, Stephen, and Laura Crawford; A.J. Sweetie Pie, and Nathan Crawford; and Shane and Danielle Crawford. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Humphrey Sullivan of Woburn. Visiting hours will be at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Road, Woburn on Friday evening, February 10 from 4-8 pm. A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 322 Main Street in Woburn on Saturday, February 11 at 11:00 am. Contributions in Phyllis memory may be made to the James L. McKeown Boys & Girls Club of Woburn, 40 Hudson St., Woburn, MA 0180.
