Thomas J. Hennigan III Obituary
Thomas J. Hennigan, III, age 58, of Hopkinton, Massachusetts, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, October 8, 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Marianne (McCarthy) Hennigan. Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, he was one of four children of Margaret Mary (Zoeller) Hennigan Knox and the late Thomas J. Hennigan, Jr., who died December 30, 2014. He was also very much loved by his stepfather, the late Kenneth R. Knox. Tom was a graduate of Masconomet Regional High School in Boxford and went on to graduate from Bentley University in Waltham. Tom spent his early career as a CPA, then went on to spend many years as a salesperson in the financial software industry. He will be remembered as a loving husband and devoted father and family man, always keeping his family at the center of his life. He shared with them his passion for all types of music, being a lifelong Beatles fan, as well as his love of all sports, with the Boston Celtics always at the top of his list. Whether attending his childrens activities, taking them to sporting events and concerts, or vacationing with them on Siesta Key, he was their greatest advocate and loved them beyond words. He was also a wonderful brother, supportive uncle, and loyal friend to many. In addition to his mother, Margaret Mary, of Ipswich, he is survived by two sons, Thomas A. Hennigan of Attleboro and William K. Hennigan of Hopkinton; his daughter, Abigail Rose Hennigan of Hopkinton; his three sisters, Mary Alice Hennessey and husband Michael of Pittsburgh, PA, Colleen Brown and husband Joel of Portsmouth, NH, and Kelly Kastrinelis and husband Timothy of Ipswich; his sister-in-law, Pamela Bourget of Abington, his brother-in-law, William McCarthy and wife Chrissy of Millburn, NJ, along with numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members and longtime friends. He will be dearly missed by them all, but never forgotten. Visiting hours at the Elliott, Woodworth, Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, will be Friday, October 13, 2017, from 5 to 8 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at St. Anns Parish at 10am of the Holy Redeemer, 300 Main Street, West Newbury, MA. Burial services will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made to the Abigail Hennigan Education Fund at www.you caring.com/abigailhennigane ducationfund.
