Joan M. Stocker Obituary
Joan M. Stocker Joan M. Stocker at the age of 81 passed away at MGH on August 13, 2017 after a short illness. Joan grew up in Lynn, Ma. and was the daughter of the late George F. and Bernice (Gates) Archer, and preceded in death by her brother George Richard (Dick) Archer, and his wife Betty (Becker) Archer. Joan M. Stocker is survived by her husband of 63 years, Charles K. Stocker. They raised their family in Reading, Ma., spent many weekends in Randolph Center, Vt. and later retired to Kittery Point, Me., where they have spent the last 17 years. Mother of 3, Karl D. Stocker (d), Laura L. Stocker of Switzerland, and Todd J. and his wife Barbara (Doucette) Stocker of Lancaster, Ma. and the proud grandmother of Nolan P. Stocker. She is also survived by 6 nieces and nephews and many good friends. Joan touched so many lives and she will be remembered for all of her unusual ideas, creative ways, love of animals, entertaining, love for the ocean and most of all her ability to think and do things 'outside of the box'. She was a real pioneer. Many have said that Joan was very special and unique. The list is endless of her accomplishments. For the last 20 years her passions turned to traditional rug hooking where she became an expert. She leaves us all with fond memories and great stories. A quote from Joan on August 7, I had a good run. In memory of Joan, invite a stranger for Thanksgiving dinner, rescue an animal, or visit with an old friend and drink coffee. If you cannot do any of these, then please feel free to make a donation to your local ASPCA or humane society. For guest book please visit www.lehmanreen.com
