Helen White

Helen Sather White of East Falmouth MA passed away on January 15, 2013 after a brief illness. She was formerly a resident of Walpole, MA for 55 years. She was born on March 20, 1920 in Hancock, MI to Anders and Gerda Sather. She left Michigan as a young adult and moved to Washington, DC. She attended Gogebic Jr. College in MI and George Washington University and Strayer College in WA, DC. She married Robert N. White in 1946 and after moving to Walpole in 1952 she remained active in many local organizations over the years including United Church in Walpole. She spent every summer from 1948 on at the familys camp at Waterman Lake in Harmony, RI. She was preceded in death by husband, Robert White; sister, Bette Ann Powers; brother John Sather. She is survived by her son, Neal White (Roberta) of E. Falmouth, MA; daughter, Patricia Stetson (Noel) of Lockeford, CA; grandchildren, Kerrie White (Eric Dixon) of Topeka, KS and Brad White (Nicole) of Sun City, AZ; sister, Greta Polcaro of Englewood, FL and several nieces and nephews. Burial was private at Knollwood Memorial Park Cemetery, Canton, MA. Private family service will be held at a later date. In her honor, memorials may be may be made to or organization.
