Michael F. Maguire, age 71 years, died in his Walpole, Massachusetts home on Friday, March 21, 2014. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on July 2, 1942, he was the son of the late George F. and Lucille A. "Sally" (Mailhiot) Maguire. He graduated from Marion High School in Framingham with the class of 1961 and later continued his education at Bentley College and Northeastern University. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard of Massachusetts for three years. He has been a life long resident of Walpole. Michael spent most of his working career as an automotive mechanic. He owned and operated Seaman & Maguire in Norwood and also worked at Nugent Central Service & Tire in Norwood. In addition, he was employed by Raytheon as an accountant. He was a member of the American Legion Post 106 in Sharon and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks
(BPOE) 1124 in Norwood. He enjoyed cooking, walking and reading. Michael was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed following the Red Sox and Patriots. Beloved husband of Judith A. (Nugent) Maguire. Loving father of Hilary Maguire of Sharon, James Maguire, Meredith Preto, Matthew Maguire all of Walpole, and Colin Maguire of Foxboro. Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Alexandra, James, Cullen, Keagan, Caden, Jack, Isabelle, and Colin. Brother of Jackie Maguire of Hopedale, Annette Burns of Gloucester, and Sheila Kiff of Cumberland, RI. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Michael's Life Celebration on Monday, March 24, 2014 from 4-8 PM and Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 9-9:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Timothy's Church in Norwood on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
