Rose Hrenchuk(1918 - 2013)

Rose (Ciano) Hrenchuk, age 95 years, died on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at home surrounded by her family. Born in Newton, Massachusetts on July 22, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Josephine (Scinicariello) Ciano. She graduated from Newton High School in 1936. After attending secretarial school in Boston, she gained employment at General Electric where she became an expediter in their Boston offices until her marriage to John in 1950. They purchased their first home in Needham and moved to East Walpole in 1954 to return to the Hrenchuk family home. She was a homemaker for many years and enjoyed gardening, sewing, entertaining and especially cooking. After Johns death in 1972, she returned to the workplace first with the Walpole School lunch program, then the James Turco Insurance Agency, Fales Machine and Hill Machine from which she retired in 1988 at the age of 70. She then began her career as the caregiver for her grandchildren. She is survived by her only child, Chuck Hrenchuk and his wife Lindsay Schuyler, her grandchildren Emily and Nicholas, her sister|law- Katherine (Hrenchuk) Kadzis with whom she has lived for 44 years, Anne (Hrenchuk) Unda, her brother-in-law Leo Shubitowski and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her only sibling, Josephine (Ciano) Shubitowski. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 9 AM at St. Marys Church, 176 Washington St., E. Walpole, MA. Internment will be private.
