Richard M. Cleveland Sr. Obituary
Richard Dick M. Cleveland Sr., age 79, formerly of Walpole, passed away peacefully in his home in West Wareham on Sunday, July 1, 2018. Born in Norwood on September 8, 1938 he was the son of the late Roger S. Cleveland and the late Ruth (Brown) Cleveland. When Dicks father and brother passed away within a year from each other, Dick took over running the family business, Cleveland Fuel Oil. Dick was also very active in the Walpole community. He was a member of the Rotary Club, Odd Fellows and Walpole Chamber of Commerce just to name a few. Dick was also a lieutenant on the all- volunteer Walpole Fire Department and a board member for the Walpole Cooperative Bank. Dick also enjoyed traveling with his lovely wife Elaine all over the world making friends along the way. He also enjoyed family gatherings and meeting with his friends at the Lafayette House and all the local restaurants. Dick always enjoyed a good laugh which lead to great friendships. Dick is survived by his loving wife Elaine (Booth) Cleveland; his children Pamela Sikora and her husband Walter of Attleboro and Dennisport, Richard Rick M. Cleveland Jr. and Joy Idman, and her husband Jack all of Walpole. Grampa Dick is also survived by 6 of his wonderful grandchildren and their spouses, and 7 beautiful great grandchildren. He is also survived by many brother & sister in-laws, nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert S. Cleveland. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Dicks name to the Hemophilia Association, 347 Washington St., Suite 401, Dedham, MA 02026 or at newenglandhemophilia.org
