Roger Kebler, born in Eagle, Michigan, September 27, 1924, son of Arthur Kebler and Flora May Lankton, died in the home he built in Nottingham, NH, on May 3, 2013, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty C. Kebler, his five children, Deborah (Michael) Holcomb of New Hope, PA, Mary Lynn Kebler of Bear, DE, William Kebler of Wrentham, MA, Paula (Stephen) DiMattei of East Walpole, MA, and Pamela (William) Yukna of Foxboro, MA. In addition, he leaves behind nine grandchildren, Graham Strouse, Nicholas Camuccio, Chelsea Corridori, Kyle Kebler, Michael Yukna , Jennifer Yukna , Mark DiMattei, Daniel DiMattei, and Erica DiMattei. After his love and pride in his children, he was most proud of his many years with the Navy Seabees, giving service to his country. He joined the Navy out of high school and served in the Pacific near the end of World War II. At the conclusion of war, he attended the University of Nebraska under the GI bill where he met and married Betty Claire Graham of Elgin, NE. Both of them finished their undergraduate degrees ten years and 5 children later, at Texas A & I University in Kingsville, TX. His Navy service took him around the US to California, Washington State, Texas, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and around the world to Guam, the Philippines, Ecuador, and Cuba. On retiring from the Navy after 22 years, he attended graduate school, obtaining a M. Ed. From Framingham State College in Framingham, Ma and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Boston University. This led to a long second career as a media specialist in the Walpole Public Schools. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the First Congregational Church of Kingston, 6 Church Street, Kingston, NH. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rockingham County VNA and Hospice at 137 Epping Rd, Exeter, NH 03883.
