Williams, Therese A. - Wareham  
Therese A. (Sheehan) Williams, 88, of Buzzards Bay, formerly of East Wareham and Bridgewater, died August 10, 2016, in Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton. She was the widow of Robert A. Williams. Daughter of the late Simon and Clara (Rudolph) Sheehan, she graduated from Bridgewater High School in 1946 and received degrees in Music Education and voice from the New England Conservatory of Music. Mrs. Williams taught music in schools in Portsmouth, N.H., Middleboro and Bridgewater State College. She also taught private voice and piano lessons. She was the former choir director and soloist at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Bridgewater and St. Patricks Church in Wareham. Mrs. Williams sang with Handel and Hayden Society in Boston, Fine Arts Chorale in Weymouth, Jubilate Chorale in Brockton and Chaminade Opera and Oratorio Society in Attleboro, and the Sippican Choral Society in Marion. She was a member of the Norton Singers Theater Group in chorus and leading roles for many years. Survivors include her children, Thomas E. Williams and his wife Mary Ellen of Easton, Brian Williams of Framingham, Mary Marshall and her husband Donald of Acushnet, Katherine Williams McWilliams of Natick and Martha Kelly of Naples, Fla.; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late David Williams and sister of the late Mary Baroni, Elizabeth Carbonara and Simon Sheehan. Her funeral will be held at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9 a.m. in St. Patricks Church, 82 High St., Wareham. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
