Francis H. McNamee, Sr., 91, of Wareham, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham after a long illness. He was the husband of Mary M. (Hayes) McNamee. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Hugh and Nora (Cockery) McNamee. A previous resident of Norwood, he has lived in Wareham for many years. Mr. McNamee was a World War II Navy veteran and served overseas in England as Aviation Metalsmith. Mr. McNamee was employed by the Gillette Co. as inspector in the blade division for 40 years. After his retirement, he co-owned and operated the Marion Antique Shop. He was a member of St. Catherines Holy Name Society in Norwood, the American Legion and Knights of Columbus Norwood Council # 252. Mr. McNamee was a longtime little league coach of the Norwood Dodgers and won numerous town championships and was Cub Scout leader of Pack 49 in Norwood. He is survived by his wife and his son, Francis H. Frank McNamee, Jr. and his wife Diane of Marion. He was predeceased by his sister, the late Dorothy Armington. His funeral was from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham on Saturday, May 18, 2013 and was followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patricks Church, High St., Wareham. Interment was in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Visiting hours were held on Friday, May 17 at the funeral home.
