Jerome K. Silva, age 68 years, of Wareham passed away Monday, July 15, 2013, at the Tremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Wareham, following a period of failing health. Jerome was born Saturday, Nov. 25, 1944, in Stoughton, and was the son of the late Manuel and Evangeline (Santos) Silva. Born and raised in Stoughton, Jerry was a graduate of Stoughton High School and later moved to Brockton where he lived most of his life before moving to Wareham for the past several years. While he was able, Jerry was a communicant of St. Patricks Catholic Church in Brockton for many years. Jerry will be remembered for his great sense of humor, he loved to joke with people and make them laugh. He enjoyed music, playing cards, spoiling his grandchildren, and was an avid Boston sports fan. Jerry is survived by his daughter, Judith (Silva) Smith and her husband Beau of Bridgewater; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Audrey Smith, also of Bridgewater; two sisters, Helen Irene DaSilva of Brockton and Mary Ann Silva of Falmouth; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins; and a very close friend, Kathleen OToole of Falmouth. Jerry was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, Manuel A. Silva, Joseph Silva, Natalie (Silva) Powers and Judith E. Silva. The family has requested that donations in Jeromes name be sent to the Tremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 605 Main St., Wareham, MA 02571, where they will help with the activities fund.
