Joseph Timothy Smith, age 32, of Plymouth, died unexpectedly at his home June 28, 2014. He was the devoted husband of Katherine Elizabeth (Kolkmann) Smith of Plymouth. Born in Plymouth, Jan. 5, 1982, Joseph was the loving son of Timothy and Bonnie (Simmons) Smith. He was educated in Plymouth and was a graduate of Plymouth South High School, Class of 2000. He was a plumber by trade, working for over 12 years for the McKay Plumbing Company in Plymouth. Joe was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed mountain biking as one of his favorite pastimes. A lifelong Plymouth resident, Joe had a strong devotion to his family. He will always be remembered for his kind demeanor and his sincerity. The memories his family have of him will be held close to their hearts. He will be fondly missed. Besides leaving his wife Katherine, and parents Timothy and Bonnie, Joe was the loving father of his 3 year old son, Braeden. He was also the cherished brother of Bethany H. Cardinal and her husband John of Onset; and leaves his niece, Zoey Cardinal; and nephew, Jacob Cardinal. Visitation was held at the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth, Wednesday, July 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral was held Thursday, July 3, at 10 a.m. at the 1st Congregational Church, 11 Gibbs Avenue, Wareham.
