Priscilla Browne Obituary
Priscilla Churchill Brown, 83, of East Wareham, MA passed away quietly on Thursday, November 29, 2012 with her beloved husband of 65 years, John J. Bud Browne, by her side. Priscilla is the daughter of the late Lucius and Mildred (Deane) Churchill and was predeceased by her brothers, Frederick Ted Churchill and his wife, Joan, and Bradford Churchill and his wife, Martha Lou, and her sister, Alice (Churchill) Meeks. After graduating from Brockton High School, she attended Boston Art School. A loving wife, mother of five children, and homemaker, Priscilla and her family lived on North Street in Middleboro for many years. When her children were older, she was the activities director at Oak Hill Nursing Home in Middleboro and then as a tour guide at Ocean Spray Cranberry house in Plymouth. Priscilla volunteered for many years with the Girl Scouts and 4H Clubs and was an active member of the Central Congregational Church, the First Congregational Church, The Middleboro Arts and Crafts Association, and the Nemasket Community Club. She was a gifted artisan and used several different arts and crafts mediums to produce many beautiful pieces for family, friends, and sale. After leaving Middleboro, Priscilla and Bud retired to East Wareham and enjoyed their winters camping in many Florida campgrounds and their summers on Onset Island, where they were childhood sweethearts before they wed. In addition to her beloved husband, Bud, Priscilla leaves behind her brother-in law, Thomas Browne and his wife, Catherine, and her children: James R. and his wife, Jackie (Myers) of Bridgewater, and R. Michael and his wife, Terri (Pendleton) of N. Kingstown RI, Patricia B. Lapanna and her husband, Angelo Speedy of Middleboro, Lucia M. Browne of Chester, and Jane M. Strauch and her husband, Steve of Plymouth. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Gregory Browne, Andrew Browne, Christopher Browne, Julie (Browne) Gendron and her husband, Matt, Angelo AJ Lapanna and his wife, Kristi (DeCarlo), Jodi (Lapanna) Scroggins and her husband, David, Jessica Strauch, Heather Strauch, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service to celebrate Priscillas life will be held at the First Congregational Church in Middleboro at 1 PM on Saturday, December 8, followed by a reception with the family.
