Carole (Condon) Bacchieri, 82, of Englewood, FL and East Wareham passed away on June 4, 2013. Carole was born on June 1, 1931 in Malden and was the daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Harrington) Condon. Carole was a 1949 graduate of Wareham High School and a 1952 graduate of St. Lukes Hospital School of Nursing in New Bedford. She was a registered nurse and worked in hospitals in Massachusetts, Utah and Arlington, VA. She and her husband travelled extensively during his military career but Carole's favorite destination was Paris, France where they spent three years. In addition to loving travel, Carole was an expert flower gardener, loved to play bridge, an avid book reader and a loyal Red Sox fan. She was very active in many military wives clubs including President of the University of Michigan Officer's wives club. Carole was a past president and honorary member of the Wareham Garden Club. In addition she served on the Wareham Free Library Board and was a member of the Tobey Hospital Guild. She participated in and organized numerous fund raisers for all three organizations. For the past 25 years Carole and her husband have enjoyed 6 months at their waterfront home on White Island Pond in East Wareham and 6 months in Englewood, FL She is survived by her husband of 60 years Col. Leo R. Bacchieri, USAF (Ret.); her daughters, Karen Roberson and her husband Dwayne of Phoenixville, PA and Jill Jones and her husband Jeff of Gardiner, WA; her son, Gregg and his wife Stacey of Kennett Sq, PA; daughter in-law Joell Bacchieri of Newark, DE; her grandchildren, Krista, Nolan, Leo J. and Max Bacchieri. Carole was preceded in death by her youngest son Robert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sat., June 22, 2013 at St. Patricks Church, High St., Wareham at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be Friday at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham from 5 | 8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Venice Hospice House c/o Tidewell Hospice, 210 Wexford Blvd., Venice, FL 34293 or to Carole's favorite animal rescue charity, CHAMPS, 1057 Main St., W.
