Bubar, Barbara  
A beautiful soul has been taken home. Barbara Bubar from NC, formerly from Watertown, MA passed away due to a stroke on August 24, 2015 at Raleigh Duke Hospital. She was 79. Born September 7, 1935 she resided in Watertown, MA, for many years before moving to North Carolina. Barbara was involved in many organizations such as Seamen Society, AVON, Lions Club, Watertown Garden Club, and gave a lot of her time to the Vision Foundation | she was a member. She will be missed by her daughter Martha, and husband David Polleys of Meford, MA, her son Brian, and his wife Joyce Bubar of Cary, NC, and her brother Glenn Nutting and wife Janice of Lewiston, Maine. She was also the grandmother of Elise and Eric Polleys of Medford, MA and Melody and Jeffrey Bubar of Cary North Carolina. Barbara also leaves behind beloved family members who cared for her deeply. She was a devout Christian and we are so happy that she is now peace with God. Arrangements for her cremation will be at Cremation Society, N.C. In lieu of flowers, please send any donation to the charity of your choice | the Vision Foundation was particularly close to her heart. Sadly we have lost an amazing woman but rejoice in her everlasting life.

Cronis, Marguerite  
Mrs. Marguerite C. (Gostanian) Cronis of Hudson died Sunday, August 30, 2015 in the Reservoir Center in Marlborough. She was 89. Mrs. Cronis was born in Boston on May 27, 1926, a daughter of the late Garabed and Melina (Zarmanian) Gostanian. Marguerite was raised in Roxbury before moving to Watertown in 1968. She had lived in Hudson since 1993. Marguerite was a graduate of the High School for Practical Arts in Boston as well as a graduate of the Shepard Gill School of Nursing at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was an L.P.N. and had worked at the Meadow Green Nursing Home in Waltham. Prior to that, Marguerite worked at the Parker Hill Hospital in Boston as well as Charlesgate Nursing Home in Watertown and Belmont Manor Nursing Home in Belmont. Marguerite was a member of Saint Luke's Episcopal Church in Hudson. She was very active at the Hudson Senior Center and loved going to Foxwoods as well as line dancing and watching movies. Marguerite was the wife of the late Charles Cronis. She is survived by her sons, Charles R. Cronis and his wife, Helen, of Marlborough, Peter Cronis and Steven Cronis and his wife, Rita, all of Newton, Paul Cronis of Hudson and Andrew Cronis and his wife, Amy, of Marlborough; her grandchildren, Charles C. Cronis, Steven G. Cronis, Meaghan E. Cronis, and Taylor M. Cronis and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Nicholas and Andrew Gostanian. Family and friends will honor and remember Marguerites life by gathering for calling hours on Thursday, September 3rd, from 4-8 pm in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham and again on Friday when her Funeral Service will be held at 11 am. Powers, Pauline  
Pauline Oates Powers, a native of Watertown and a recent resident of Ashland, died at Milford Hospital on July 15, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late William Powers and the daughter of the late John P. and Mary Agnes Mullen Oates. Pauline was the devoted mother of Jay McGillicuddy, William Powers, Michael Powers, and the late Patrick Powers. She is survived by her brother Paul J. Oates of Watertown. Pauline was predeceased by her three brothers John, Timothy, and Thomas, and by her four sisters Mary White, Agnes Coughlin, Ruth Phinney, and Virginia Coen. Services were held at the Matarese Funeral Home in Ashland.
