MaryJacqueline Rita (nee Breault) Shaughnessy, known to family and friends as Aunt Rita or Jackie lost her courageous battle with Alzheimers disease on April 26, 2018 at Mt. Carmel Care Center, Lenox MA. She was 77 years old. A native to Berkshire County, Jackie was born on June 24, 1940 in Pittsfield, MA. She was the eighth child of eleven children born to J. Raoul and M. Angeline (LeClerc) Breault who immigrated to the United States from St.Theodore-dActon, Bagot Quebec Canada. Jackie will be remembered by her six children. She leaves four daughters, Michelle (Viner) Orlando and her husband Blair Torelli of Hinsdale, MA, Deborah (Viner) Counihan and her husband Timothy of Plainfield, NH, Annemarie Kristine (Viner) Garland of Hinsdale, MA, and Erin (Shaughnessy) Grant and her husband Richard of Waltham, MA, and her two sons, Michael A. Viner and his wife Sharon, and Gregory J. Viner, both of Hinsdale, MA. She is survived by three brothers Marcel, Richard and Joseph Breault, and her sister Jeannine Potash who all reside in Berkshire County. She leaves six admiring grandchildren, Erica M. Newton, Gabrielle and Danielle Orlando, Isabelle Viner, Camille and William Grant. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Joseph Raoul Breault (5/31/1947); her mother Mary Annette Angeline (LeClerc) Breault (3/04/1998); her five brothers, Donald (1928), Raymond (1962), Bernard (1981), Norman (1992), Jerome (1998), and Fernand (2018) & her beloved first grandson Nathaniel Dean Newton of Lanesboro, MA. While growing up in Pittsfield Jackie attended St. Josephs High School. Her family belonged to Notre Dame Parish as well as the French American Club, where Jackie served at many functions and fundraisers for the French Club. Once married she spent most of her life in Dalton raising her six children. She started up two successful businesses in Pittsfield, MA. Her first business was as a store distributor of Seagull IV water purifiers in the early 1980s. Her second business she opened, was Tropitana Tanning Salon on East Street in the late 1980s. Jackie enjoyed bringing family and friends together in her home for many celebrations where food and fun flowed. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Jackie will forever be remembered for having the biggest heart and the most beautiful smile. Jackies family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at the Mt. Carmel Care Center in Lenox, MA and Hospice of Berkshire County for their loving care. In keeping with the wishes of Jackie there will be no funeral services, a private family service has been held.
