My thought and prayers go out to the Downing family. My family grew up with the Downing family on Berkely street. I will never forget the big grey house they lived in. It is very sad that Mary has passsed away at a young age. My thoughts and prayers will always be with Walter and his sisters may Mary rest in peace.

We here on Hornby Island are sending our thoughts and prayers to Thomas and Mary's family and friends. Heartbroken is what we are but full of wonderful memories of her time here directing our motley crew to rave reviews in not one but two major theatre productions. She was simply the best. Take heart, dear ones, she will direct us all again one fine day. Blessed Be our Mary.

Mary was a mentor. I met her when I was 19, and the influence she had on my life was profound. More than any one single person I have ever known, she had the ability to help one see one's own potential and believe in it. She truly embodied grace and passion, a rare combination. I will miss her deeply. And remember her always.

Mary was my ELA teacher. she was kind to all her students and loved them all equally. each day when the students came into her class she made our day. Mary loved to right and shared her writing to her class. she was good friends with all the teachers and had a good spirit. people who never knew her just instinctively clung to her like a magnet. Mary is the person people look up too. all the student and staff who knew her miss her and will always hold her dear. Mary i hope to see you again one day in heaven

Mary inspired everyone and me. She inspired me to write a book. Mary and I created the first chapter of the book. I told her that she would be the first to read it. Now if i ever get the chance, I will personally go to her and read it to her.
