Grace V. (Parmenter) Gledhill, 76 of Wayland, MA, passed away peacefully March 12, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was born in Natick, MA, October 26, 1935, daughter of the late Robert and Grace Parmenter. She moved to Cochituate at the age of 6 where she resided for the remainder of her life. On March 29, 1959 she married the love of her life George S. Gledhill her husband of 53 years. She graduated from Wayland High in 1953. Grace was a very active and social person, she was an at home Mom for many years, she worked various jobs to help support her family until she found the perfect fit for her at Micro Switch in Natick and Marlboro, she later retired from John G. Shelley Company in Wellesley. After retirement she needed something to keep her busy so she went to work at Sunrise assisted living and finally Bay Path Elder Services (Meals on wheels) of Wayland until fall of 2011. She loved working and being out and about with people. She was an active member of the Community United Methodist Church in Wayland as well as the senior center. Grace enjoyed years of volunteering for the food pantry at Parmenter Health Center in Wayland. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband George Gledhill of Wayland, MA, her daughters Gayle Gledhill of Wayland, MA, Gerrie Gledhill of Plaistow, NH, and her granddaughter Isabella Gledhill also of Wayland, many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Glen Gledhill in 1980. A memorial service will be held at a date yet to be determined.
