Talmage Edman) of Tacoma, WA, by brothers G. Stoddard Reynolds (wife Elizabeth) of Simsbury, CT and Charles D. H. Reynolds of Bostic, NC, and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Elisabeth R. Oliver of Washington, DC. Sally spent her formative years in Pittsfield and resided in Wayland since 1964. She was a graduate of The Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, PA and graduated from Smith College in 1950. After graduation, she spent a year in Paris as a Fulbright Scholar studying illuminated manuscripts. She then joined the CIA, working in Washington, DC, and for some time in Thailand. Subsequently, she attended Harvard Law School, graduating in 1962. Sally joined Nutter, McClennan and Fish of Boston as an attorney where she met her husband Ted. She and Ted moved to Wayland in 1964, where Sally served on the Conservation Commission for many years, spending countless hours working for the betterment of the townspeople in preserving open space. All will miss her dry wit, her gardens, her honesty, her intellect and her spark. A private family burial was held at the Cedar Brook Burial Ground in Limington, Maine. A Memorial Service celebrating Sallys life will be held on March 24th at 1 pm at the First Parish in Wayland, 50 Cochituate Road, Wayland Center. To my dear cousin, Sally, with whom I've exchanged many genealogical and memory tidbits relating back to her grandfather, Charles Dewey Hilles. I'll profoundly miss your insights and encouraging words. Love, to all the family.
