Nancy Milkey Obituary

Nancy Lee Milkey of South Dennis, (formerly of Wellesley, MA), died peacefully at her home on March 28, 2011, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Lewis, and her five children, son John and daughter Suzanne, both of South Dennis, son David, his wife Karen and their two children, Marissa and Diana of South Dennis, daughter Pamela Morrison, her husband David, and their two children, David and Scott of Natick, MA, and son Thomas, his wife Nina and their two children, Thainin and Terrin, of South Dennis. She is also survived by her brother David C. Lee of Naples, FL, and sister Susan L. Gannon of Wellesley, MA., as well as many nieces and nephews. Born May 11, 1933 in Minneapolis, MN, she was the daughter of the late Harry R. and Mary M. Lee of Wellesley. She was predeceased in death by her sister, Donna (Lee) Woodward. Nancy graduated from Wellesley High School in 1951, then Pine Manor Junior College in 1953. She began raising her family in Wellesley, MA, moving to Simsbury, CT for several years, then returning to Wellesley. She and Lewis retired to Cape Cod in 1993. Nancy was also fortunate to have spent winters in Fountain Hills, AZ. All agreed that she wore the western look well. An avid cook, re-finisher of furniture, and an antiques lover, Nancy also had a natural eye for interior design. Her influence of style will surely live on with her family. A Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, April 2 at Holy Trinity Church, Rte. 28, West Harwich. Donations in her name may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, JDRF 60 Walnut Street, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481.
