H. Bruce Pollard, 79, beloved partner of Beverly Bertrand, with whom he shared 37 years together, died Thursday, March 14 at NSMC Salem Hospital. Born in Lynn, he is the son of the late Harry and Florence (Hunt) Pollard. Bruce grew up in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School. For many years, Bruce was employed by the Prime Leather Finish Company as a Chemist and salesman. He enjoyed boating and cruising. Bruce was also a very talented trumpet player. In addition to his partner, he is survived by six children: Donna Malatesta of Hamilton; Dana Pollard of Palm Springs,CA; Darryl Pollard and his wife Margaret of Severn, MD; David Pollard of Hamilton; Diane Mammola and her husband Jack of Gloucester and Darlene Lounsbury of Hamilton; twelve grandchildren: Bruce and Kristen Pollard, Mark and Bianca Malatesta, Nicole Sargent and her husband Bill, Vito Mammola, Lauren Pollard, Harrison, Nicholas, Mimi, Matthew and Sam Lounsbury; one great grandson: Brady Pollard; Edward Fitzpatrick of New Bedford, Christian Fitzpatrick; Jeffrey Bertrand and his wife Jennipher of Rochester, NH; Tyler Patrick and Samantha Bertrand. He is predeceased by his brothers: Edward Hunt and Dick Pollard. A Funeral Service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 391 Bay Road, Hamilton on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly Location) on Monday from 4 to 8 P.M.
