Peter George Gibbs, 80, of Albion, MI and most recently a resident at the Willows in Westborough, passed away peacefully on June 29th, 2013. He is survived by his sister Margaret and his brother Alan, both who reside in England. He is predeceased by his parents Sydney and Amy Mary Madeline, both of London, England. Peter was born on August 4th, 1932 in London, England. He received his formal education in that area and in his early years, worked as a Jig and Tool Draughtsman. Peter also served in the British Army and was deployed to Egypt during the Suez Crisis in 1956. In 1957, he married Brenda (Wendy) Kathleen Bishop, of Wembley, England, the mother of his four children, who tragically passed away in 2004. In 1966, Wendy and Peter followed their dream for a better life and immigrated to the United States with their young family, Stephen, Jenney and Andrew. The family moved to Framingham, MA. where a fourth child was born, Sarah. The family resided in Framingham and later, Easthampton, MA for approximately 15 years During that time, Peter worked as an engineer in the MA area for both Honeywell, Digital and Unisys. In his later years, he moved to Michigan, where he worked as a quality control engineer until his retirement at age 74 for Sparton Corporation. Peter had many friends in that area; including his very close acquaintances, Paulette, Kathy and Terrence, all who will miss him greatly. Besides his brother Alan and his sister Margaret, Peter is survived by his four children, Stephen, of Westborough, MA, Jenney, of Yorkshire, England, Andrew of London, England and Sarah, of Kent, England. Also, his grandchildren, Connor Gibbs and Adam Gibbs of Westborough, MA. Nicholas Henderson and Sophie Henderson of Yorkshire, England. Eliza Gibbs and Finn Gibbs of London, England. Elle Dalmedo, Isabel Dalmedo and Amelia Dalmedo of Kent, England. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the members of Beaumont at the Willows in Westborough, especially, Mauro and Josephine. Their dedication and effort to provide quality care over the last 6 weeks of his life were a heartwarming blessing to the entire family. We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him there. He greatly enjoyed his walks around the park like grounds with his son Stephen and his wife Linda. He adored his grandsons Connor and Adam, who both made regular visits to him, including watching the Boston Bruins with him, during the playoffs. A Graveside Funeral Service was held honoring Peter on Tuesday, July 16th 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in St. Lukes Cemetery, Westborough, MA, officiated by Father Jesse Abell.
