James (Jim) MacGregor Meikle Jr. of Port St. Lucie, FL., passed away quietly on Thursday May 9th surrounded by his family. He was born in Boston, MA, son of James MacGregor Meikle Sr. and Joanne (Turnbull) Meikle, both deceased. Jim has been married for 58 years to Sally A. (Bealand) Meikle of Nashua, NH. He is survived by 5 children, 2 daughters; Cheryl and her husband Robert OMalley of Littleton, MA, Chandra and her husband Joseph Nelson of Westford, MA and 3 sons; James (Jay) MacGregor Meikle III of Westford, MA, Jeff and his wife Elaine of Tyngsboro, MA, John and his wife Rita of Ashburnham, MA. Seven Grandchildren: Bob OMalley and his wife Gyee Tan of Jamaica Plain, MA, Christine Edwards and her husband Jason Edwards of Westfield, MA, Samantha Meikle, Taylor Meikle of Ashburnham, MA, Stephanie Meikle of Paris France, Cameron Meikle of Pittsfield, NH and Joseph Nelson of Westford, MA. A loving sister, Joan Schoenstein and her husband Alfred of Port St. Lucie, FL and their two daughters Bonnie and Ranie. He is also survived by two brother-in-laws, two sister-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. Jim had a lengthy and personally rewarding career working for GenRad, Inc. (currently known as Teradyne) retiring after 34 years. Sally and Jim raised their children in the town of Westford, MA and were active in the United Methodist Church in West Chelmsford, MA. After retirement they moved to the town of Port St. Lucie Florida, where they have enjoyed living for the past 12 years. Jim, loving his Scottish heritage, was proudly involved in the Clan Lamont of North America having served almost 8 years as their Secretary/Treasurer. As a thank you from the Clan they are providing a bagpiper at his Memorial service. A memorial service will be scheduled this summer at the United Methodist Church in West Chelmsford. A private interment will be held at the family plot at Edgewood Cemetery in Nashua, NH. Donations may be made to your local hospice organization.
