William F. "Sonny" Corr, Sr., 91, a resident of Westford for the last 54 years, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, died Saturday September 14, 2013 at the Westford House. Born in Chelmsford on June 19, 1922 he was the son of the late William A. Corr and Alice (Merrill) Corr. William was a loving husband for 54 years to Alice (Papanotas) Corr who predeceased him in 2003. During World War II, Bill served in the US Army's 309th infantry in the European Theater where he received the European, African and the Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon with one service star. He also received the Purple Heart for wounds while fighting in Germany. After the war, Bill worked for the A & P Box Company for 20 years and later he worked for Alpine Sewer Service before his retirement in the 1980's. Next to his family, his second love was raising farm animals. He was also an exceptional woodworker who made many projects for his family and friends. Bill is survived by and will be deeply missed by his four sons, William F. Corr Jr. and his wife Christine of Westford, Wayne G. Corr of Homosassa, FL, Kevin P. Corr and his longtime friend Theresa Carlo of Westford and Dana P. Corr and his wife Bernice of Westford; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Corr, Kerry Keins and her husband Scott, William H. Corr and his wife Milena, Jarrett Corr, Kevin Corr, Jessica Corr and Jamie Corr; five great grandchildren and his sister, Thelma Williams of Harwich, MA. He is predeceased by three sisters, Dorothy Bovill, Clara E. Knowlton and Arlene E. Bickford. Visitation was held on Tuesday at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, CHELMSFORD. His funeral service was held on Wednesday at 10 a.m.at the funeral home. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the
