Obituary Condolences

Elizabeth Ann (Stroup) Hinckley, 82, passed away May 14, 2013 in Fremont, N.H. surrounded by love. Born March 21, 1931 in Orange, N.J., to the late Russell and Celia (Carr) Stroup. Her childhood was spent in Newton, MA. As a young woman, Liz modeled for her father, an Eastman Kodak photographer and attended the Vesper George School of Art in Boston. She applied her art training in everything she did in life, finding beauty in all of natures subtle details. She created many beautiful ceramics, flower arrangements, wreaths and gardens. Liz adored all animals and spent time caring for Clydesdale horses in Sudbury. She spent several years as a floral designer at Russells Garden Center and Arrowhead Nursery in Wayland. After residing in Wayland, MA. for 49 years, Liz moved to N.H. in 2007. She is survived by her children, Robin L. Davis and her husband, Matthew of E. Kingston, N.H., Karen L. Mercer and her partner, Tim Blake of Centerville, MA., D. Scott Hinckley of Jefferson, ME. Pride and joy, granddaughter Hanna L. Davis of E. Kingston, N.H.. Also survived by her sister, Sue Ellen Gilbert and brother-in-law, Harland of Ashland, MA., former husband, Newton G. Hinckley of Jefferson, ME., nieces, nephews, and each dear friend and caregiver at Poplin Way that made a difference in Lizs life. A graveside service for the family will take place at the North Cemetery, Old Sudbury Rd. (Rt. 27) in Wayland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue (gentlegiantsdrafthorserescue.com) or Brookhaven Hospice, 100 Lafayette Rd, Hampton Falls, N.H.
