Pauline Blake Nelson, 87, died peacefully and comfortably on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Timothy Daniels House in Holliston following a period of declining health. She was born in Dexter, Maine on June 19, 1927 the daughter of the late Wilfred D. Blake and Edith (Westgate) Blake. She was the beloved wife for 60 years of the late Dayton Gilbert Nelson who died on April 25, 2009. Pauline was the loving mother of Bradley R. Nelson of Natick; Steven E. Nelson and his wife Terry Nelson of Clermont, FL; Scott A. Nelson and his wife Lisa Nelson of Natick; Laurie N. Dill and her husband Steven Dill of Bellingham and Roy B. Nelson of Natick. She was the sister of Marjorie Fantin of San Diego. CA. Also survived by seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pauline spent her formative years in Dexter, Maine and graduated from N.H. Fay High School with the Class of 1945 and was a member of the Glee Club. She also graduated from Fisher Junior College in Boston in 1947 Associate of Science degree in secretarial studies and also sang in the college Glee Club. She had been a longtime resident of Cochituate where she raised her family. For several years she and her husband Dayton retired to their summer residence in Plymouth before moving to Bellingham in 2005. She was a longtime member of the Community United Methodist Church in Cochituate and was active in the affairs of the church as well as a member of the choir. Music and singing were an integral part of Paulines life. She loved to read and was an accomplished baker. She and her family spent many summers in Plymouth where they enjoyed all water sports and boating. Her family was the most important aspect of her life and she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. Her family would like to extend a special thank you and gratitude for the love and care that Pauline received as a resident for the past several years at the Timothy Daniels House in Holliston. Visitations will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2014 from 3:00 to 6:00 in the Bryant Memorial Chapel of the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Cochituate. Her funeral services will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 10:30 am at the Community United Methodist Church, 5 Damon St (corner of Damon St and Rte 27), Cochituate. Interment will follow in the Nelson family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Cochituate. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that memorial gifts in Paulines memory may be sent to the
