Lois Rosenblad Obituary
Lois Knudsen Rosenblad, 73, of Wheaton, Illinois went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2014. She was born on August 21, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York. Lois earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from Trinity University in Deerfield, Illinois in 1963. Following graduation, Lois taught second grade for a number of years prior to starting her family and becoming a homemaker. She married John Lyndon Rosenblad, formerly of Georgetown, Texas, on June 20, 1964. A nurturing and devoted mother of four, Lois enjoyed being a hands-on, constant presence in all of her children's lives. She was a dedicated caregiver to her oldest daughter, Karen, during many years of Karen's chronic illness that eventually took her life. Lois lived in various parts of the country, including Omaha, Nebraska and Littleton, Colorado, and was also a resident of Westwood, Massachusetts for almost 25 years. During the last decade of her life, she lived in Wheaton, Illinois to be near her family, and took great joy in spending time with all of her grandchildren. A lifelong learner, Lois also had an adventurous spirit and traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad. In her free time, Lois was an avid bird watcher and nature lover, and spent much of her time in recent years reading and doing puzzles. Lois was a committed Christian and a woman of remarkable humility and personal integrity. She was proud of her Norwegian heritage and Brooklyn roots. Her loving and gentle spirit was evident to all whom she encountered, and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her three children, Cindy (husband Doug) Ambler, Brent (wife Jennifer) Rosenblad, and Janet (husband Brian) Nalley; seven grandchildren, Emily, Abby and Drew Ambler, Ben and Owen Rosenblad, and Kayla and Evan Nalley; and two siblings, Laura (husband Ken) Berg and Warren (wife Lynn) Knudsen. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lyndon Rosenblad, and her daughter, Karen Dawn Rosenblad. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 13th from 4 to 6 pm at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, TX. A Christian service will be held on Monday, July 14th at 10 am at the Ramsey Funeral Home. Internment will follow at Georgetown Evangelical Free Cemetery.
