Daniel J. Doyle

Daniel J. Doyle, 80, of Palm Coast, Fla., died Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Florida Hospital Flagler in Palm Coast after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Quincy, Mass., the son of the late David F. and Mary Agnes (Cummings) Doyle, he graduated from Quincy High School, Class of 1952. Upon graduation, Dan enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was stationed in San Diego, Calif., and served from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean War. After being discharged from the Navy, he remained in California. He was employed as an officer at the Union Bank for many years. Dan relocated to Palm Coast to enjoy his retirement. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling across the U.S. and visiting historical sites. Dan loved being near the ocean and swimming. He is survived by his sisters, Anne E. (Doyle) George and Mary Sheila (Doyle) Murray, both of North Weymouth, Mass.; his brother, Gregory W. Doyle of Quincy, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, David F. Doyle Jr. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 6, 2013, at St. Jerome Church, 632 Bridge St., N. Weymouth, at 10 a.m. Interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Mass., will take place Monday, April 8, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours have been omitted.
