Agnes R. Doyle Obituary
Agnes R. Doyle, 96, of Quincy, died February 6, 2017 at Harbor House in Hingham. She was the devoted wife of 31 years to the late Edward J. Doyle. Born and raised in South Boston, she was the youngest of 5 children born to the late Michael J. and Mary (McCauley) Swanton, and a 1938 graduate of South Boston High School. Mrs. Doyle was a longtime Quincy resident and parishioner of St. Anns Church, where she was a member of the Womens group. She served as a Girl Scout leader during her daughters adolescent years, and had worked as a sales girl at the former Remicks Dept. Store in Quincy. She was the loving mother of Audrey A. Sirois of Quincy, and the late Diane Cunningham and Elaine Bryan; cherished grandmother of Shawn Cunningham, Sheryle Doyle, Scott Cunningham, Keith Bryan, Keri Chojnowski, Rene Sirois and Brad Bryan. She was the sister of the late Gertrude Flynn, Mary Albertazzi, Alice Scarlata and James Swanton. Also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandson, extended family and friends. Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited, will be held Thursday, February 9, at 9:30 a.m. from the Hamel, Wickens & Troupe Funeral Home, 26 Adams St., Quincy Center, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in St. Anns Church, 757 Hancock St., Quincy. Interment to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m., prior to Mass.
