Beverly A. (White) Lutz, age 72, of Cohasset, died Oct. 4, 2013, at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Beverly is survived by her two sisters, Brenda Baumann of Kingston, MA and Barbara Ferreira of Wesley Chapel, Florida, and many loved nieces and nephews. She was born in Holbrook, MA, received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education in Administration from Bridgewater State College. She earned a Master of Arts in English from Boston College and spent the majority of her professional career in the Weymouth MA school system as a teacher and administrator, where she was a creative and gifted mentor to her students and colleagues. Although a private person, she touched her many friends, colleagues and students with her humor, limitless enthusiasm for learning, and generosity in sharing her love of literature. After her retirement from Weymouth, she continued to teach at Quincy College and Fisher College. Beverly loved her Pekinese, theater, opera, classic movies, travel, professional tennis, good food, collecting books, and convertibles. Burial was private on Oct. 8, 2013 at Woodside Cemetery in her beloved Cohasset. A gathering of colleagues and friends will be held at her home on Nov. 15, from 3 to 6 p.m. She will be remembered as direct, smart, funny, clever, sensitive and stylish | a great friend to those privileged to have shared her life.
