Charles Phillips Chapman Jr., 73, in Weymouth, formerly of Milton and Fort Lauderdale, FL died peacefully after a lengthy illness on Nov 1. Phil grew up in Milton and was the loving son of the late Charles P. and Gretchen M. Chapman. He was a graduate of Milton High School, Class of 1958 and a graduate of New England Institute of Embalming. He worked for a short time at JB Cole & Gleason Funeral Home in Milton before moving to Las Vegas in 1965. Phil worked at the Sahara Hotel and Casino for many years as a doorman before moving to Fort Lauderdale in 1981 where he was an account executive with IPMC. Phil always enjoyed sporting events, playing cards, the ocean, and most importantly being with his daughter Christie. He was the loving father of Christie Lynn Chapman of Tampa, FL and loving brother of William B. Chapman and his wife Ellie of Milton and David M. Chapman and his wife Ellen of Falmouth. Step father of Kelley M. Perez of Parrish, FL, David W. Martin of Whitman, and Gregory S. Martin of Bridgewater and grandfather of ten. He was the former husband of Lorraine Martin Chapman of Rockland. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A visitation period was held on Tuesday, Nov 5, at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Funeral home service at 7 p.m .
