John T. Reynolds Obituary
John T. Reynolds, 94, of Quincy, died peacefully at John Adams Healthcare on February 16, 2017. Born and raised in Quincy, he was a son of the late Dr. John T. and Mary Elizabeth (Killian) Reynolds, and proud grandson of the late legendary boxer Jake Kilrain. A retired long distance truck driver, he was a former member of Teamsters Local 42. Jack served his country with honor in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a decorated member of the 3rd Division, 15th Infantry Regiment, seeing action overseas in Southern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. Among the medals bestowed on him were the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for valor in combat. He was the loving father of Phyllis Ann Reynolds of Quincy, Mary Chiachio and her husband Daniel of Quincy, and John Reynolds and his wife Ruth of Londonderry, NH. Dear friend and companion to Beth Orzechowski, he is also survived by his former wife, Phyllis (Williams) Reynolds, 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 8 siblings. His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited, will be held Wednesday February 22, at 11 a.m. at the Hamel, Wickens & Troupe Funeral Home, 26 Adams St., Quincy Center. Interment with military honors to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Visiting hours respectfully omitted. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the compassionate and caring staff of the John Adams Healthcare Center. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Reynolds' memory may be made to John Adams Healthcare Center Residents Activities Fund, 211 Franklin St., Quincy MA 02169 or to the , 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
