Joseph Renda Obituary
Joseph Renda, age 89, a longtime resident of North Weymouth, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Monday, January 15, 2018 at the South Shore Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Joseph was born in Messina, Sicily to the late Bartholomew and Agatha (DiPaola) Renda. He was raised and educated in Messina. Joseph was proud of his Sicilian heritage and his service as a member of the Carabinieri for eight years in Northern Italy. He immigrated to the United States in 1957, settling in Quincy where he lived for thirteen years. After which, he resided in North Weymouth for over forty-five years. Joseph was employed as a laborer in the construction industry for Louis Pasqualucci and Son, Inc. for thirty-five years, retiring in 1991. He was a proud member of Local 133 Laborer Union for over fifty years. In his free time, he served as an usher at Saint Jeromes Church in North Weymouth for twenty-five years. Joseph was also a member of the Saint John the Baptist Church Senior Citizens Group in Quincy and the Whipple Senior Center in Weymouth, where he and his wife enjoyed many senior trips. Joseph enjoyed gardening and socializing with his walking buddies at South Shore Plaza in Braintree. Joseph was generous and had a strong passion for helping others. He was dedicated to his family and especially to his children and his cherished grandchildren, actively supporting all their many activities and accomplishments. Beloved husband for sixty years of Rose Marie (Marchese) Renda. Devoted father of Anita Marie Renda of Rockland, Joseph Renda, Jr. and his wife Jo-anne of Mansfield. Loving Papa of Amar Alhakim, Dawn Renda, Danielle Renda, and Joseph Sonny Renda III. Dear brother of Francesco Renda and the late Salvatore Renda, both of Italy. Joseph is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
