Jung Rai (Choi) Nicholson, age 79, of Quincy, formerly of Weymouth, died peacefully, Friday, May 12, 2017 at Saint Elizabeths Medical Center in Brighton, with the comfort of her loving daughter. Jung Rai was born in Korea where she was raised and educated. She immigrated to the United States in 1980 and had lived in Quincy for twelve years, previously in Weymouth. Jung Rai was a devoted wife and mother. She was well-known for her cooking, and enjoyed flowering, walking, nature and the ocean. She was incredibly creative and talented. She created the most beautiful flower gardens. She had a smile that could light up a room and her presence warmly touched all those blessed to have known her. She was an active member of the Quincy Young Sang Presbyterian Church in Quincy. Beloved wife of the late John K. Nicholson. Devoted mother of Myung Hee Nicholson of Quincy, and Wang Num, Yi Jun, and Jeong Hee, of Korea. Daughter of the late Yun Shik Choi and Nak Gill Kim from Korea. Funeral services will be conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy on Wednesday, May 17, at 11 oclock. Reverend Soonwoo Lee, Pastor of the Quincy Young Sang Presbyterian Church will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation at the funeral home prior to the service from 10 - 11 a.m. Interment private.
