Kenneth K. Haskell Obituary
Kenneth K. Haskell, age 66, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Friday, September 29, 2017, at the Hospice Center at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Ken was born in Quincy, to the late Eugene F. and Ethel M. (Reed) Haskell. He was raised and educated in Quincy and was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1969, and later earned an associate's degree from Massasoit Community College. He had lived in Weymouth for thirty-two years. He was employed for many years as an electrical technician for the Gillette Company in South Boston and recently retired. Ken was a Vietnam veteran having served in the United States Navy aboard the aircraft carrier, USS John F. Kennedy, CV 67. He had served on the Playground Committee for the Town of Weymouth and had been an active volunteer with Boy Scout Troop 2 in Weymouth for many years. Ken enjoyed sailing, bike riding and especially walking his pet dog, Callie. He was an avid Boston sports fan and was devoted to his family and friends. He was the beloved husband for thirty-four years of Gail M. (Marini) Haskell; devoted father of Kenneth K. Haskell, Jr. and Geoffrey E. Haskell both of Weymouth; dear brother of Maureen J. Comis and her late husband Rick of Gloucester, Judith L. Comoletti and her husband Gary of Braintree, Gary R. Haskell and his wife Patricia of Norfolk, Glenn S. Haskell and his wife Dorothy of North Attleboro. Ken is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Monday, October 2, from 4-7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Graveside services with military honors will be conducted on Tuesday, October 3, at 11:15 a.m. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
